Bargrooves returns to the deep with its second instalment of 2012, Deeper 2.0

Taking in the deeper, somewhat darker but not altogether unsoulful side of house, Bargrooves tastemaker, Andy Daniell takes us to the very heart of what is really happening in house music right now as we play host to a who’s who of deep house producers of the moment. Deeper 2.0 picks up right where we left off on last year’s unveiling of this brand new direction for Bargrooves music and it’s certainly true to say the deeper scene is only getting stronger.

Alongside two bonus mixes from Bargrooves’ label A&R and compiler Andy Daniell, this edition features some of the crème tracks and remixes from names such as Todd Terje, Julio Bashmore, Joyce Muniz, brand new music from Ray Foxx, MK’s very special dub of Inner City’s ‘Future’ plus Mowgli and Larse.

Standout and instantly recognisable music comes in the form of Jamie Jones fresh new mix of Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’, Osunlade with the brand new Argy mix of what’s become a real deep anthem – ‘Envision’, Radio Slave and Thomas Gandey’s mix of no less than Mousse T’s ‘Horny’, Solomun’s remix of Superfunk ‘Lucky Star’ alongside Steve Bug’s mix of the Chez Damier’s seminal ‘Can You Feel It’.

For those who like it deep, it’s all about Bargrooves Deeper 2.0.

Bargrooves takes to the slopes to sample the pleasures of bar culture Après Ski-style for its first instalment of 2012.

Towns like Verbier in Switzerland with its Farm Club or Casbah, Mayrhofen in Austria, Meribel and Val d’Isere in France and Whistler in Canada have become as synonymous with partying as they are with world-class skiing conditions or snowboarding terrain. It seems every year clubbers become ever more discerning not only with the music but who is playing it to them; as such they attract A-list international DJs who appear regularly behind the decks of some truly epic mountain-top clubbing destinations.

Here, Bargrooves provides the quality soundtrack to keep music-loving skiers or ‘boarders plugged in to the finer sounds of house music throughout their winter holiday both on piste or afterwards, in the sometimes crazy hours that follow a day on the slopes.
